Annie... Isn't it obvious?!

Ok- so, I still need to post my recap- unfortunately I have misplaced my jump drive- under the seat somewhere. I will find it once I get to a permanent stopping point for the night and upload that. Hopefully finish the Easter eggs tomorrow or sun and get that posted as well

BUT- Here's a theory to keep you interested ;). I was driving to Iowa yesterday, and had a thought. I called Rick, and asked what Kate's mom's name is.. It's Diane- not too much help, but look at it this way... One of Kate's alias's was Annie (maybe she got it from her mom?) The little girl would now be about Kate's mom's age, Annie looked like a child version of Kate- and could have easily grown up to have a daughter who looked like Kate. We don't REALLY know who Kate's father is... When Kate and Sawyer were captured by the 'Others'- Ben was nice to Kate- he treated her in almost a 'fatherly' way... There were other things that we discussed last night- that also play into Diane being Annie- and possibly Kate being Ben's daughter- but now it's been about 24 hours- and I can't think of them... Rick- help me out here if you can.

But that's about it- My newest theory- that Charlotte isn't Annie's daughter and Ben's daughter... Kate is.

LOST Season 5: Episode 6 “316”- Lost Kassicast Easter Eggs, Theories, and More

1.The Dharma Station named “The Lamp-Post” made me think of a reference to ‘The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe’- Where the way that the children found there way- both to Narnia and home from it- was by locating the Lamp-post. It just hit me when I was writing the recap- that was the first thing I thought of.

2.I think that Ben was all bloodied up- because his “Promise to an old friend” was referencing his promise to Widmore that he would kill Penny. He tried and might have succeeded- not sure, but I’m pretty sure Desmond then kicked the crap out of Ben.

3.Now that we see 5 of the 6 Oceanic 6 on the plane headed back for the island- it makes me think of that ‘runway’ again. The one Kate and Sawyer were helping to build… You remember the one 

4.When we see Hurley- reading a comic book- it just happens to be a comic book that is actually written by a Lost writer- Brian K. Vaughan.

5.Some people think that Jack’s Grandpa Ray- in his quest to go ‘anywhere but here’ has been to the island before- it’s a family thing  I’m not sure if I agree with this.

6.I’m happy they finally explained the White Tennis Shoes on Christian Sheppard 

7.White Rabbit= The name of the episode in which Jack first saw his father in the jungle in season one… White Rabbit= the bunny in the magic show going on when Jack meets his grandpa and find’s his fathers shoes. (Also, we see white bunnies everywhere in this show )

8.Seeing Jin working for Dharma- brings up two main points… 1.That explains why Faraday was working in the Orchid Station in the first episode of this season 2.How long have they been stuck in the 60’s?!?!

9.Ben said on the plane that his mother taught him how to read- another lie- as his mother died in childbirth with him.

10.Sooooo.... Did the plane crash or did the 06ers just "flash" onto the island?? and, if they did - did Frank and Ben go too?? and if so, who's flying the plane now???

11.Was it just me, or did someone else notice that Frank made almost the EXACT facial expressions that Daniel makes when he is trying to figure something out/realizing something is going on. I was wondering if it was on purpose, or if Frank has always done that and I just noticed because he is all cleaned up.

12.From a description: “The man Jacks meets at the airport and that goes on board is a French actor named Said Taghmaoui, famous (at least in France) for his contribution to the movie "La Haine".
Considering his rather large status of fame, it is now obvious that he is doomed to play an important (yet secondary) role in the Season 5;”

13.I doubt this connection means anything important, but charlies father was named simon pace and he was a butcher. this is simons butcher shop. obviously this place is in la, but I thought it was an interesting point.

14.The date on the military photo of the island in the Lamp-Post station is 09/23/1954. The date flight 815 crashed is 09/24/2004- 50 years and 1 day later…

15.I wonder who the "very smart man" was that built the pendulum the Hawkings talked about...hmmm... could it be Daniel Faraday?

16.In Mrs. Hawkings Lamp-Post station- there is a post behind her when she’s talking to desmond. Everything else there looks like an old military station- then there’s this post that looks like old stone… such as the four toed statue.

17.There is also a Mary statue that looks just like the heroine filled Mary’s.

18.After seeing the 6 numbers making up Latitude and Longitude in the Lamp-Post station- I decided to look up the numbers in a “find my latitude/longitude location” site. Found that 4,8,15,16,23,42 will take you to right outside a city called Banga in the Central African Republic…

19.Thoughts From Rick= “I think Kate gave Aaron away to Clare's mom. She knew she had to go back to the island and she wanted to keep Aaron safe. The reason she asked Jack never to ask her what happened is because she wants to keep it a secret so that nobody can find him. And if it isn't Clare's mom, I still believe she gave him away and not that someone took him. If he just disappeared she would continue looking for him for a long time and not just give up and go to Jack's. I think the combination of Ben telling her "he's not your son, Kate" and her seeing and knowing where Claire's mom is a good indicator that she gave Aaron up to her.” I completely agree with this- and (even though Rick’s forgotten) did come to the conclusion Kate gave Aaron away last night. Although- I think that her vision of Claire telling her “Don’t you dare bring him back, Kate” was really the deciding factor.

20.Also From Rick “When Hawking told Jack that he needed to recreate as many circumstances as possible that mirror the original flight, it was not because those items needed to come to the island or that they had special powers or anything like that. It was to show that they believed the island would bring them back. It was a leap of faith, even Hawking mentioned that. When you believe in the island things work out for the better in general. Just look at Locke. Every time he doubted the island things were bad for him. In season 1 when he didn't believe, the island took his legs. He told Eko that Boone was the sacrifice the island needed. Now John is giving the ultimate sacrifice by giving up his life so that the island will bring him back and make everything right again. Now the 5 (minus Aaron) are allowed to come back because they believe it will happen. Even Frank Lapidus knows it will happen and he hasn't even been through half that the others have.

And Ben is allowed back to the island because of the way he has been acting. He has been letting things happen the way they should without knowing all the answers. He asked Jack what Ms Hawking said to him but he also leaves Jack alone to read the letter because he was supposed to. This act of letting the island take over will allow him to come back.”

21.Again: And I completely agree with this one “All of the oceanic 5 + Ben have changed roles on this latest flight compared to who they were on 815. They have all become different people but still people that were on flight 815. Think about this for a second: Jack is now John. Even though john wasn’t much of a believer while he was actually on the flight, he was a true believer once it crashed. And deep down Locke WANTED to believe in something greater. But Jack now is the believer, much different role for him. Kate is Claire. She is all sad and alone on a flight after she just made a big decision about her child...who happens to be the same one. :) Hurley is Charlie. Makes sense since he’s been visited by Charlie so much lately. He probably had another visit with him before he got on the plane. Plus he’s carrying a guitar case which could maybe have belonged to Charlie as well. Ben is Hurley. Hurley barely made flight 815. Remember all the trouble he had and how he barely made it on board? He was even upset later on when he yelled out “I’m not supposed to be her”. Then guess what Hurley says to Ben when he boards? “You’re not supposed to be here.” :) Sun is Rose. Even though it looked like her husband was dead, she believed he was alive. Sayid is Kate. This one was pretty obvious but he is in cuffs just like Kate was on 815.”

22.Rick has lot’s of thoughts this week  “What if the fake wreckage of flight 815 was real? What if it wasn’t flight 815 but rather flight 316? :) What if when Frank saw the dead pilot on the screen, he was seeing himself? Remember Frank was supposed to be the pilot for 815. The universe course corrects itself so the island made sure he came this second time. This is also why Ms Hawking said that it HAD to be this particular flight”

23.Also- Hawkings said that they had 36 hours to get back to the Island… It took them 46 Hours once they were awake- does this mean that they were passed out for 46 hours?!?

24.Rick “Now that we are in dharma time, which I was dead on right about btw :), we will get to see Charlotte as a kid. She mentions when she was time traveling "Why can't Daddy come with us?" I'm sure she is talking to Annie. Annie is her Mom but maybe Ben isn't the Dad. Maybe that is why Ben knew everything about her but didn't like her. So is "Daddy" Widmore or someone else?”

25.Rick is sure that Rose and Bernard are Adam and Eve- which I like, but brings up the question- if they die in the 60’s- will they keep traveling through time- or will their bodies stay behind and rot- to find the skeleton’s later… ?

Ok- I think that’s it for now. Leave your theories- or write me your theories and remember- We get to see the story of Jeremy Bentham next week!!!

LOST Season 5: Episode 6 “316”- Lost Kassicast Recap

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” - John 3:16

Well here we go again. Last night’s episode was completely awesome! It might just be my favorite so far this season! We did learn a lot- and still have oh so many new questions- but we’ll get to those. In this recap- I’m not only covering the recap and things you might have missed but also some little thoughts here and there. Hold on and read ahead J BTW- the easter eggs and theories will be posted/emailed later today.

Déjà vu:
We start with an eyeball. Jack’s in fact. And we’re taken back to the very first scene of the very first episode that started our 6 year long addiction. Rick and I kept looking back and forth between the screen and each other- with confusion and awe. (sorry, I’m falling back into creative writing-this episode brings it out- I’ll try to stop tho J) Jack in, what looks like to be the same suit he crashed in before. Then it changes and we notice that he’s not confused, he looks somewhat happy, and he’s not rubbing his ears to get the hearing back just to hear the sounds of the wreckage and people of flight 815. He has a ripped piece of notebook paper in his hand, which has, "I wish..." scribbled on it.

Hurley's voice calls him away. He runs towards the voice, and sees Hurley struggling in the lagoon below. Jack swan dives off the cliff and makes his way down below and pulls Hurley (and his guitar case… hmmmm guitar case much like Charlie’s that was left behind) to shallow water. Across the lagoon, he sees Kate, unconscious on the rocks. He wades over and quickly revives her. She's OK, but all three are confused as to what happened.

The Lamp Post Will Help You Find Your Way:
Eloise Hawking lights a candle underneath Caravaggio's "Doubting Thomas." (it’s a painting- just in case you weren’t aware- Ben will explain the story later) She greets Ben, Sun, Jack, and Desmond, same as the end of "This Place is Death." She leads them all down a staircase to a large metal door with a Dharma logo on it. Once inside, all look around in wonder, even Ben: They see the pendulum, the blackboard, old electronic equipment, and a series of rotating numbers indicating longitude and latitude (which just happen to be 6 number- such as 4,8,15,16,23,42). According to Hawking, this is The Lamp Post: the way that the Dharma Initiative found the Island. Jack asks Ben if he knew about this place and after Ben says no- Jack turns to Hawking and asks if Ben’s telling the truth. “I doubt it” She replies J That made me laugh

Get ready for your Dharma history lesson: The room was constructed over a unique pocket of energy, similar to various pockets all over the world- such as oh, say, the Island. Those that built it wanted to find not where the Island was, but where it would be. Nice. Turns out some madman back in the day correctly presumed the Island was moving through time. However, this movement wasn't random, but fairly predictable based on equations derived at the time to more or less give highly educated guesses as to possible future locations of the Island. Predicting said locations leads to windows in time; and the Oceanic 6's window closes in 36 hours.

The Island Isn’t Done With Me, I Mean Desmond…:
Des has had just enough of this from the woman that cost him years of his life with Penny. I was waiting for him to speak up. He delivers Faraday's message letting them all know that Hawking is Faraday’s Mother. Funny, Ben looked surprised but Hawking showed no emotion whatsoever. When Hawking says the Island isn't done with Des yet, he explodes, confronting her over their encounter in the jewelry store and that she wasted four years of his life. He tells Jack that they are all just pawns in some large game, and suggest he ignore whatever Hawking says. He declares that he's done with the Island. Ha- yeah- good luck with that.

How will they get back? By selecting a flight that just so happens to fly over the location it will be during that window. And behold, just such a flight exists: Ajira Airways 316 (1.The Water Bottle, 2.See quote above), L.A. to Guam. The Oceanic 6 need to all return together in order to re-create, as best they can, the circumstances under which they initially arrived. The way she relates this suggests a ritual of some sort to appease the Island, which will then re-grant access to its awesomeness. What if they can’t get them to all be on that flight? “The Outcome will be… unpredictable” she says. Jack seems skeptical, but Hawking insists there's a little more for Jack to do.

Re-Create The Past:
Hawking leads Jack alone up to her study in the church. She delivers to Jack Locke's suicide note, which is inside an envelope marked "Jack Shephard." Apparently, Jack didn't believe Locke committed suicide. Hawking insists Locke will help Jack get back as a proxy for Christian- as Jack was transporting a deceased body before- now he will again. As such, Jack needs to find something of his father's and give it to Locke which naturally sets Jack off. Hawking scolds him, and suggests that he accept this "leap of faith." She says the quoted phrase as if she knows Locke once said those words to.

Inside the church, Ben looks a little jealous. After Jack sits near him, Ben gets up, lights a candle, and inquires about his conversation with Hawking. Jack wants to know why she's so important, but Ben instead chooses to lecture Jack on the subject of Caravaggio's panting. He points out that while Thomas is most famous for doubting Jesus' resurrection and needs to touch the wounds, he also bravely suggested all the apostles return to Judea where death awaited them all. "We're all convinced sooner or later, Jack." Sun has already left and now Ben a final loose end he needs to tie up about a promise made to an old friend (hmmm… He did make a promise to Widmore that he would kill Penny), and leaves.

Later, Jack is at a bar trying to have a drink. He's interrupted by a call from his grandfather's nursing home. He visits his grandfather, Ray the next day, sparing him from a magician's act involving a white bunny. The two seem to have a cordial relationship, which is a rarity in the world of Lost. Looks like Ray's a fan of the "anywhere but here" school of thought. Guess it runs in the family. As Jack unpacks Ray's suitcase, he finds Christian's dress shoes inside. Shocked to the core, he asks Ray to take the shoes with him. Ray has an odd expression on his face, but says yes.

Well, This Is Just Uncomfortable:
That night, he returns home. Again, he reaches for a drink, but hears someone entering his house. Who is it, Who is it? He wearily walks towards the sound to find Kate, lying on his bed. As we see her face, we see a very, very different Kate than at Slip 23. Her eyes are hollow, her cheeks pale, and she looks like she's aged years. She tells Jack she wants to come with him to the Island. When Jack asks about Aaron's whereabouts, she makes him promise to never ask her that question again- a little angrily. Then they proceed to… ah hem… well, you know… Good Gravy, that was weird.

The following morning, Jack makes Kate breakfast. Kate notes Christian's shoes, which launches Jack into a story of how he forewent shoes like these in favor of white tennis sneakers in 2004 (Thank God we finally know why Christian is always walking around in a suit and white shoes… That’s been bugging me!) He figured no one would look at Christian's feet anyways, though now he notes that such a small effort to get dress shoes probably would have been better (although- at least Christian’s feet are comfortable while hiking through the island and time…). The World's Cheeriest Continental Breakfast ends when Jack gets a phone call from...an extremely bloody and scared Ben. Looks like the someone beat the holy hell out of him, and now Jack needs to run to the butcher shop and pick up Locke's body.

Jeremy Bentham’s New Shoes:
Jack stops by the shop to pick up the body. Jill says she knows him- and Locke’s in the back. She leaves him alone in the meat locker as she pulls the van around back. This leads us to the first Locke/Jack scene of the year! Course, this is a little more one-sided than normal, but on the bright side, it's much less argumentative. As Jack takes off Locke's shoes, he says, "Wherever you are, John, you must be laughing your ass off that I'm actually doing this. Because this? This is even crazier than you were." He then puts the suicide note in John's pocket, unwilling to read it.

Here We Go Again:
At LAX, Jack makes the arrangement for Bentham's body with the Ajira ticket agent. While the agent explains the procedures surrounding caskets (including opening it for security reasons), he spies Kate approaching. On the way to the terminal, he runs into Sun. The gang's coming together. He also sees Sayid...accompanied by a female law enforcement agent- hmmm- the pieces are coming together. As he leaves, the man in line behind him offers condolences to Jack over his friend's death. The man looks familiar to me- but I need to look into it a bit further- lets just say he has a rather large part for a red shirt.

One more to go...and there he is! Reading a Spanish copy of "Y: The Last Man," Hugo Reyes, ladies and gents! He's fresh out of prison and the new owner of 78 seats aboard Ajira Airways. He really is the heart, as he's potentially saved the lives of that many people. When Jack arrives, Hurley is less than forthcoming about how he ended up at LAX. Yeah… How did he know to be there?

One by one, they board. I want to run down the Oceanic 6 remix right now- but I’m saving that for the theories and easter eggs…After a brief scuffle involving Hurley and Ben, the flight attendant hands Jack Locke's suicide note. Looks like it popped out during inspection. Jack's worried about the fate of the others onboard; Ben's as sympathetic to them as he was to those aboard the Kahana. Wow, he’s scary. All I know is that if I was in the waiting room- waiting for a plane- (and watched the news to recognize the faces) I would opt out of that flight once I saw the infamous Oceanic 6 all boarding.

Once in the air, Jack talks to Kate about all the coincidences that brought the Oceanic...well, 5, really, back together. While they talk, the final piece of the Oceanic 815 re-creation falls into place as we learn the identity of the pilot: FRANK LAPIDUS. I spell that in all caps because that was so freakin' obvious and yet I totally didn't see it coming. I soon as we heard his voice- we looked at each other- lost in pure awesomeness. Love. It. Lapidus is happy to see Jack, but after
seeing everyone else, delivers the line of the night: "We're not going to Guam, are we?"

Later that night, Jack frets as Ben reads James Joyce's Ulysses. When Jack asks how Ben can read, he replies, "My mother taught me." First Off- HAHAHA- funny reply.. Second- um- here I was thinking his mother died while giving birth to him. Jack pulls out Locke's note, and asks if Ben knew Locke killed himself. Ben denies it- yeah cuz he always tells the truth. Ben offers to give Jack some time alone to read it and heads to the bathroom. The note reads merely: "Jack: I wish that you had believed me. JL." Youch.

Just then, the plane goes a rumblin' and a tumblin'. Jack looks excited. Kate looks nervous. So does Sayid's chest hair. Hurley tells semi red shirt to buckle up and puts on his ‘blindfold’. All of a sudden, the plane's engulfed in a familiar white light.

We Know Where We Are, But When Are We?:
We start at the beginning of the show again- Jack saving Hurley then Kate

None of them remember crashing...all they remember is the white light. Jack suggests they look for the others, but just then, they hear a sound coming from the jungle. A pristine-looking Dharma van pulls up, and an unseen worker grabs a gun and holds them at gunpoint. That man? Jin! Dude's a work man now! AWESOME!!!!

LOST Kassicast Season 5: Episode 5 “This Place is Death”- EASTER EGGS AND THEORIES‏

There weren’t too many easter eggs or new theories this week- as it was obviously a ‘catch up’ episode- not a ‘new-issue’ episode. But here’s a few things that I have:

1.Geronimo Jackson- the band- we’ve heard it a lot- it’s a 1970’s band whose member went missing- but we don’t know the details- here’s some past references= Charlie and Hurley found a Geronimo Jackson album in the Swan. –Undercover police officer (in ‘Further Instructions’) wore a t-shirt with Geronimo Jackson on it. –A Geronimo Jackson poster adorned the inside door of the locker that 16-year old Locke was locked in -A Geronimo Jackson vinyl cover is seen next to a DJ at Hurley’s surprise birthday party -Currently- Charlotte says “turn it up! I love Geronimo Jackson!” when she was out of it

2.Gun’s seem to always mess up- when pointed at certain people. Michael tried killing himself and his gun didn’t work, Jack tried shooting Locke- same problem, and now Robert tried shooting Danielle- Good thing that didn’t work either.

3.Fun little fact- the woman playing adult Danielle is named Mira Furlan and the young Danielle is Melissa Farman- same initials

4.When Locke turned the donkey wheel- Was it just me- or did it seem way different than when Ben was down there? It wasn’t freezing. Could it possibly be the other side of the wheel?

5.Locke doesn’t have identification or money- and he’s supposedly dead- where is he going to get this new identity and documentation to back it up with- in the middle of the desert?

6.Why is it that Locke’s legs always get injured? J

7.We already figured Hawking as Faraday’s mother- so that wasn’t a surprise but- it was a surprise that Ben seemed surprised by that.

8.The donkey wheel being off track- seems to possibly have been what was causing the ‘record to be skipping’ So, if Locke stopped that- would the losties be stuck in whatever time the wheel was fixed in? And, if that’s the case- what’s with the ocean 6 having to come back?

9.One thought that goes along with this- Charlotte said Daniel was that ‘Creepy Old Man’ Now- true to a little girl- anyone over the age of 20 seems old- but what if he was really really old- because he had been stuck back in time and aged…

10.Charlotte left the island when she was little with her mum- never saw her dad again… I’m thinking her parents are Ben and Annie.

11.The French group- came out of that smoky hole- possessed some how. Not an imitation like Christian Sheppard- because they could be killed by bullets.

12.The hieroglyphs that were on the outside of Smokie’s cave- are the same that were on that door that Ben called Smokie from- in the basement of his hut.

13.Faraday and Locke are the only two in the Losties group who don’t have bloody noses yet…

LOST Kassicast Season 5: Episode 5 “This Place is Death” RECAP

Ok all, so I thought this episode was really good- closed some loose ends, opened some others and had some really good character development. We didn’t get to see much of the Oceanic 6 last night- but we got enough of them- and I was happy with the amount of time my TV stayed on the island.

Jin’s Alive?
We start at the Marina. Ben’s really running into trouble with the Oceanic 6. Jack is really the only one who’s on board with going back to the Island. We see Sun, sitting watching from afar, when she gets a call from back home. Sun tells her mother she’ll be back tomorrow and tells Ji Yeon that she’s got a new friend for her- from America. Strange! So, was she thinking about taking away both Kate and Aaron or just stealing Aaron?? What’s up with that?

Sun walks up to the group on the pier while Kate and Ben are arguing. She tells Kate to move and tells Ben that she blames him for Jin dying. Ben shoots out “Jin’s still alive, and I can prove it.” My question is- How does he know?!

Ben says he can take her to someone in LA who can show her proof. Kate freaks out when she hears about returning to the Island and takes off. Sayid wants no part of what’s going on and threatens Ben and Jack about contacting him again. He’s gotten really grumpy lately.

While they were supposed to arrive wherever within 30 min, and it’s been longer, Sun is getting impatient. Ben says, in his monotone voice, that he didn’t account for the traffic. Jack apologizes to Sun for leaving Jin behind, and Sun thinks he’s trying to get her not to shoot Ben. Jack says he’ll kill Ben himself if Ben’s lying. Ben freaks out a little and gives a nice little speech about what he had done to keep Jack and the others safe and if they’re going to kill him, do it now. Obviously they don’t and the car drives on.

Faraday’s Mother…
The trio arrives at a chapel in their van labeled Canton-Rainer (anagram for “reincarnation”) and Ben gives Sun Jin’s wedding ring, which he says Locke gave him. Sun believes him and is ready to go back.

But, Hey, Look- it’s Desmond! (let’s hope he didn’t bring Penny with him- as Ben would be happy about killing her) “You’re looking for Faraday’s mother too?” We get an interesting reaction from Ben, who didn’t seem to know that Eloise Hawking is Faraday’s mother… And, here I thought Ben knew everything…

They go inside the chapel and there’s Eloise Hawking who berates Ben for not bringing ‘all of them’. He says it’s all he could get on short notice and she says “I suppose this will have to do for now. Let’s get started” Started? With what, prey tell? She’s scares me more than a little.

Jin Ne Saia Quoi
Jin discovers he’s in 1988.. odd revolution. He’s worried about Sun- trying to communicate that he needs to go find his camp, asking one French guy if he’s seen a helicopter. The French guy scoffs “First a boat, then a helicopter. Next thing you know he’ll be talking about a submarine” (no he wont- Locke blew that up. Rousseau & Co agree to go to his camp, after they find the radio tower from which they can send out Danielle’s ominous broadcast.

Along the way, ‘Nadine’ disappears. At that moment they hear Smokie! While smokie is freaky- I’m oh so happy he’s back. A dead Nadine falls from the sky, and Jin yells “RUN!”. Rude Blonde Frenchie comes face to face with Smokie and is drug into a whole in an odd cave type building. The team bands together to try to pull him out and end up pulling off his arm while he get’s drug underground. They here “help me” yada yada- which I think was totally a set up and the team decide to go after him. Jin tells Danielle she has to stay behind because of the baby, and then he flashes away. (BTW- Side note- we’re watching this- and the exact time Smokie shows up we hear a beeping, just like in the hatch. We assume it’s coming from the back speaker and has something to do with the show… After Jin flashes and we still hear the beeping- Rick goes to check it out. Then we start hearing the warning signal- from the time running out in the hatch. We, of course are confused- trying to figure out if we’ve just been watching LOST WAAAY too much. But, as it turns out- Rick has a LOST timer application on the dashboard of his Mac- and it had counted down from 108 minutes. LOL- really- what is the chance that something like that would happen while we’re watching the show. It was great!)

After the flash- Jin is standing amidst the ruins of the monster’s ‘lair’ and sees the decomposing arm of the blond guy, gets some water from a leaf, and makes his way to the beach. He wonders upon the French camp and finds Danielle’s music box and… oh yeah- two of the frenchies shot dead. He wonders to Danielle and her husband, Robert who both have guns pointed at each other. She’s saying that he’s not Robert, he’s sick. He tries to explain, I’m worried about you and our baby, it’s not a monster, it’s a security system guarding the temple. For a moment, she touches her pregnant belly and appears to thaw a bit, but when he pulls the trigger on his gun and misfires, she shoots him dead.

young Danielle quickly whirls on Jin and aims. "You disappeared! You're sick too; you're a carrier," she shrieks. Just as she's about to make the newly alive Jin not so, Jin runs through the jungle. There's a flash and...

Reunion
So Jin has another gun pointed at him, but this time it's Sawyer's! Hooray! It's reunion time, and for a brief second, things are happy. Daniel surmises that he was blown within the radius. Jin has a lot of questions obviously. In his excitement, he lapses into Korean and asks someone to translate. Everyone assumes he means Miles — "He's Korean; I'm from Encino," Miles snarks — but he’s talking to charlotte- I guess we’re supposed to remember she speaks Korean- but I forgot.

Jin wants to know how Locke is sure that Sun made it off the island. Locke non-explains that he just knows and that she never should have left.

It's then that we learn that Charlotte also speaks Klingon, a funny. The flashes are happening faster now. Two in a row and Charlotte collapses again. She tells Jin, in Korean, not to let them bring her back, no matter what. Why's that, Charlotte? "This place is death," she cries. We'll contemplate the possibly wide-ranging implications of that statement later, but for now, let's hear what else Charlotte has to say. Because she has a lot to say.

Charlotte’s Past Life
Charlotte is talking like a little kid, much like Faraday's former squeeze back in Oxford. "Why can't Daddy come with us?" she non-sequiturs. To wit: "You know what my mum would say about me marrying an American." "I know more about ancient Carthage than Hannibal himself." "Turn it up, I love Geronimo Jackson." HA- more Geronimo Jackson.

Another flash (I'm losing track of them in the narrative now, but there were a lot), and the group decides to leave Charlotte behind; Daniel stays with her. But, before they part ways, they realize that they don't know when they are, thus the Orchid might not yet even exist. "Look for the well; you'll find it at the well," says Charlotte, in a helpful moment of odd clarity.

Charlotte unleashes a monologue that answers almost all of the questions we've ever had about her character. She's remembering things. It turns out she grew up on the island as part of the Dharma Initiative, but left with her mum, who tried to get young Charlotte to forget it ever existed. "That's why I became an anthropologist, to find this island again," she exposits. "That's what I've been searching for my whole life." "Why are you telling me this?" Daniel asks, and you expect her response to be something like "Because I'm dying" or "Because I love you." But no, when she was little, a scary, crazy man told her she had to leave the island and to never ever come back — or else she'd die. "Daniel, I think that man was you," (Rick really did call this one- I was thinking alpert? Ben? Mr. Chang? Nope- Rick says “Faraday”) she says. Well, there ya go- Really didn’t see that one coming!
Daniel tells her that he told Desmond to go find his mother, who will help them. But before Charlotte can get her mind around this really weird revelation, she's gone again. "I'm not allowed to have chocolate before dinner," she squeaks. And then she appears to die.

Below the ground
After what appears to be a very brief hike, Locke, Jin, Juliet, Miles and Sawyer find the Orchid. "What are the odds that we'd end up here at the same time as this thing?" Juliet says. Ha! Guess what? There's a flash, and then it disappears. "You just had to say something," Sawyer grumbles. But that's OK, they find the well to which Charlotte referred.

"How did Charlotte know this is here?" asks Miles: Locke is going in. As he says curt goodbyes, Jin — who knows a thing or two about not descending into dark, island-based pits this week — threatens to cut the rope. "This island is bad," he says. He doesn't want his wife and daughter to return. Locke promises not to contact Sun, but says that she might find him. "You tell her I'm dead. You buried me. Take the ring," he says. Fair enough! So down he goes, but — uh oh — there's another flash, and when Juliet, Jin, Sawyer and Miles come to, the rope that formerly went down the well now ends at solid ground. "We can't help him," Juliet says gravely.

Christian… or Jacob…
Meanwhile, underground, Locke has fallen to the bottom of the now-sealed-in well, in the dark, and has broken his legs- it’s always the legs with him- at this point I think I’d be wishing I still didn’t have feeling in my legs. Just as things look really grim, Christian arrives. "I'm here to help you the rest of the way," he reports. Christian scolds John for not following his instructions: He told Locke that he had to move the island, not Ben. When John explains that Ben said he had to stay behind and lead his people, Christian gives this enlightening reply: "Since when did listening to him get you anywhere worth a damn?"

But there's good news! Christian tells him he just has to give the ol' donkey wheel a little shove, that it has slipped off its axis (will this also stop the flashes?), and then see Eloise Hawking in Los Angeles, who will tell him how exactly to get himself — and all the others — back to the island. He also confirms Richard's mandate that he's going to have to die in the process. So maybe that's not exactly good news.

"Can you help me up?" Locke asks. "No, sorry, I can't," Christian replies. As the wheel turns and the screen fades to white, Christian says, "Good luck, John... say hello to my son." "Who's your son?" Locke asks, but there's the flash to end all flashes.

"The Little Prince" Theories/Easter Eggs/Questions

Ok- so here’s a few easter eggs and theories…

1.The French novel- “The Little Prince” is about a prince who is stranded in a desert, but eventually visits six planets, each inhabited by a different single character… The King, The conceited Man, The Drunkard, The Businessman, The Lamplighter, and The Geographer.

2.The canister found on the beach (French time) said Besixdouze =Be+Six+Douze= B612= Home Asteroid in “The Little Prince”. The B612 foundation is also “a private foundation dedicated to protecting Earth from asteroid strikes. Their immediate goal is to significantly alter the orbit of an asteroid in a controlled manner by 2015

3.Just a reminder- remember the Asteroid that hit the chicken place Hurley owned?

4.The Numbers are at it again. Sayid was knocked out for 42 hours, Kate’s address is 42 Panorama Crest, and Ben, Jack and Kate met at the 23rd dock in the marina.

5.The name on the side of Ben’s van says Canton Rainier= move the letters to Reincarnation

6.The hotel that Norton met Carole Littleton- looks like the same hotel that Sayid brought Hurley for the ‘safe house’ and also looks just like the hotel in the video that Ben showed to Locke to show him Charles Widmore.

7.Fun little site.
http://www.ajiraairways.com/
Pilots and sailors avoid a new pacific location: trouble area.

8.On the beach with the Abandoned Losties camp there aren’t any dead bodies with arrows sticking out of them? Where’d they go? Buried? Has it just been long enough that they’re decomposed

9.Remember back when Kate and Sawyer were ‘helping’ the others build an airstrip??? Is this maybe for the Oceanic 6 to come back??

10.Funny thought- but if this time is relatively far in the future… let’s say 10 years and the losties/others/scientist have managed the time traveling thing- but are still keeping themselves protected from others…. Couldn’t they be in the canoe shooting at some random people (say oh themselves from the past) for stealing their canoe… I know it’s making my head hurt… But even try this one on- Locke, Sawyer etc jump back into their boat and try to head back to the beach camp after their Orchid mission… then they see the same boat, the one that shot at them before… Sawyer grabs his gun and takes the first shot, because they know they’re going to be shooting at him. The other people fire back… Then the other boat disappears- meaning it was their boat in the first place.. one boat one gun…

11.Danielle Rousseau never told us what they were researching, but apparently in the scripts, there was a scene where she told Sayid that they were researching time (they had to cut it though because ABC was appalled at the idea of introducing time-travel; little did they know).

12.I thought it was a little odd that Jin said that his boat sank instead of blew up… As he wouldn’t have seen the ship sink. But, back oh- when they were on a raft, the boat did sink and Jin was floating on a piece of wood from it as well… But as he was floating on a door- still assume this is after freighter Jin- just thought it was funny 

13.Young Rousseau is holding the Music Box that Sayid fixes in Season one- in her arms when their raft lands on the island

14.The surveillance report that Sun is reading is actually taken from a fictional crime solving website- http://www.crimescene.com/beauty.archive/evidence.pi.report.html#findings.%20it%20has%20nothing%20to%20do%20with%20Lost,%20i%20think.%20it's%20just%20the%20surveillance%20of%20the%20suspect%20in%20some%20homicide.

15.Who is Sun blaming and after to kill? Ben or Jack- I think it’s really a toss up. Jack left Jin on the boat and wouldn’t let Kate go after him. It’s Ben’s fault the boat blew up.

16.Is she pretending that she’s working for widmore now, or is she playing him too?

17.Charlotte’s been on the island the most time, followed by Miles, followed by Juliet, Followed by?

18.WHERE ARE ROSE AND BERNARD?!?!?!?

19.Speaking of that- Where is Vincent (the dog?)

Season 5: Episode 4 "The Little Prince"

Here’s the recap- the other theories and easter eggs will be posted later today!
I was swamped yesterday and didn't have time to do it :(

The Little Prince
Awesome episode! We learned a bit this week- but we’ll get there!  This isn’t going to be a chronological recap- so it’s a little easier to follow

Penny’s Boat:
We start with Kate and Jack talking a few days after being rescued by ‘The Searcher’. Now, I always thought it was Jack’s idea for Kate to raise Aaron… No? No. It was Kate’s… Odd- as, on the island, there were multiple times when Kate handed over Aaron or wouldn’t hold him, claiming to be no good with kids. Jack is cool with it- and tells Kate that tomorrow he’s going to have to convince the others to lie to protect those left behind. “I’ll turn to you first”.

L.A. and the ‘Lawyer’:
Now we’re three years later and Kate is dressed up in one of Sun’s suits. She leaves Aaron with Sun… who by the way, is getting a little scarier each episode… And Sun takes a babysitting break to receive a package. In the package there are photos of Ben and Jack, a box of chocolates (yum ), and a hidden pistol. This was a little funny to me- as if someone would look into the package- don’t they think would be really odd to have a report of someone being followed and a really really heavy box of chocolates? Also, I’m thinking that this makes me think of Sayid a bit- where he received names and guns…

Kate visits the creepy mean lawyer, and tries to strike a deal. Her blood sample for contact with his client. Norton doesn’t like the idea- and is a bit rude- and notes that the client wants to make the exchange of custody as smooth as possible. “You’re going to lose the boy”

More Horse Tranquilizers:
Jack is treating a very annoyed Sayid, but gets pulled away by a hospital administrator- who’s a little upset that Dr. Druggie Jack is treating a patient in the hospital… as he has been suspended. He get’s a call which he has to take and- it’s Hurley, in a too-tight orange prison jumpsuit  HA! Calling from prison.

Meanwhile- A male ‘nurse’ visits Sayid to give him some medication… Yeah- considering that Sayid’s not checked in- that was a bit of a tip off. Sayid takes him out and get’s an address from the man’s pocket… Kate’s address… where she just happens to be living at a house with the number 42. Jack calls Kate, trying to warn her- but she’s busy stalking creepy Lawyer Norton.- So he meets up with her and she tells him all about the lawyer. Jack hops in the car and their off on a slow chase. They track Norton to a hotel.. where low and behold… It’s Carole! (p.s. that’s Claire’s mom). So, now the questions are… How much does she know? How does she know? Who told her? What the ____ is going on? Well turns out, she doesn’t know anything. Jack runs through the pouring rain to go talk to her (funny note- as we’re not in order- but it just so happens to start pouring in LA- right after the scene where it the Losties got moved through time to a thunder storm). Jack talks to Carole then runs back to Kate- and explains that Carole is only in town to get her settlement from suing Oceanic Airlines. Kate doesn’t believe that the fact they have the same lawyer is just a coincidence. I agree…

Who’s Behind It All:
Ben and Sayid arrive at the courthouse where Ben’s lawyer tells him that there’s no real case against Hurley… By the way… Ben’s lawyer happens to be Dan Norton.

Jack and Kate go to the marina to meet Ben and Sayid. Kate calls Ben out as being the one trying to take Aaron. Jack denies it, but Ben admits it was him… (to all those wondering, Rick and I totally called this while watching a preview for the coming season… we went back on it.. but we originally called it- that counts right? ) “he’s not your son” in his normal flat ‘duh’ tone 

Oh wait- there’s Sun and sleeping Aaron- watching the group from a parked car. And what is Sun holding? Oh right, it’s a gigantic firearm…

Bloody Hell:
Back on the Island in 19_ _ Charlotte’s passed out on the ground. As we’ve seen before, one of the tricky side effects of time travel is that it might cause a teensy bran hemorrhage, which first presents itself as a bloody nose. I think my brain might be hemorrhaging from all of this thought about rules on having a ‘constant’… I mean, wouldn’t they all now be each others constant as they knew each other before the flashes began?? Sigh… I think my nose might be bleeding…

Daniel tries to explain to Juliet that it’s like bad jet lag… um yeah- REALLY bad jet lag. He’s looks a bit uncomfortable when Juliet asks why it’s not happening to everyone else. How come no one can just answer a question on this island… (“how old is Alpert?” “Really Old” thanks) Locke tells Sawyer that they should take the Zodiac to travel around the island to the Orchid Station (Woo Hoo! Four Toed Statue Anyone?) so he can leave the Island and get the Oceanic 6 to come back. Sawyer is against the idea, so Locke promises him Kate would come back. “I have to make them come back, even if it kills me”- good guess.

Charlotte Wakes Up, a bit disoriented- wonders who Daniel is for a minute. But, she’s cool. And then, Oh Look- Miles has a bloody nose… oops. Then we find out that the hemorrhaging might have something to do with the duration one spends on the island… ok- so that might work for Desmond and Charlotte (As we’re now relatively sure she was born on the island) But Miles? I’m sticking with he was born on the island as well… Dr. Chang Jr anyone? Um, do you remember our friend George Minkowski from the freighter? He actually succumbed to Unstuckintimeitis, and we have no evidence to believe that he had been to the island before. But had he? It's then that the hamster wheel in my head starts turning, and I think: Fisher Stevens was kind of a high-profile guest star for such a small part. Maybe we can all look forward to a mite more Minkowski in our future.)

I Know When We Are!:
Locke sees a beam of light in the air- and we know they flashed back to a time where Boone had died and Locke went banging on the hatch door in frustration and pain. he gets the crew to move away from the light. He also tells Sawyer that he wouldn't go back and warn his other self of the pain to come. "I needed that pain; it got me to where I am now," he says plainly.

But that detour didn't prevent Sawyer from stumbling upon the exact moment when Kate helped Claire deliver Aaron. In which- Bravo to acting- you could see the love in his face.

Other Other Others:
They make it back to the beach and see their camp- but no Losties… How far in the future are they now? No Zodiac either. But, there is an odd looking canoe with a bottle of Ajira Airways- issued water (thanks to sneaky Juliet- being the only one who know this…) So, another plane crash? What’s with the boats? There are Other Other Others?

They take the boat and start paddling away. Sawyer tells Juliet about seeing Kate. But before he gets into it, they start getting shot at! Again! Now, how another canoe is paddling fast enough to catch up and shooting multiple guns, I have no idea, but they are. Juliet returns fire. But, just as we think, “UH OH” another flash starts. Sawyer raises his arms “Thank You God!” but as the flash ends and they’re in the ocean in a thunder storm, he takes it back. Hahahaha!  They discover wreckage…

Everything is in French. Hmmmm….

I Knew It!- well I thought it at least!:
We’re in a raft with a bunch of French people and- oh look!- they’ve spotted a body in the water. Woo Hoo! It’s Jin! I so knew it!  They make it to the island and low and behold- one of the castaways is pregnant. Welcome back past Danielle Rousseau. So, right now we’re in approximately 1988. I wonder how her team dies… 
